New hat style and J starts her home repair duties

Here are a couple of quick pictures from last weekend. The first one shows J's new sense of style that focuses on being environmentally friendly by finding new uses for old items. The second shows J learning how to help out around the house on small repair projects.

Trip to Mount Rainier staying at Hudson Bay Chalet cabin

This weekend, Rebecca, J and I stayed with friends at a rented cabin down near Mount Rainier, just outside the south entrance. It was a nice getaway weekend. The weather was a little wet, but that made for fun snow when we went up to Paradise to see the new visitors center. We stayed with Paul, Liz, Amy, Mike and Jaime. It was Paul's birthday. Liz did all the arranging to find the cabin, she found a great one, it fit us all somewhat comfortably (but that is easier to say for us, because we got one of the rooms with a queen sized bed).

To help J prepare for her upcoming sibling, Rebecca bought her a new babydoll to care for. J loves her new Corelle doll, and dotes on it very maternally. Here she is wiping the baby's nose before putting her down for her nap.



This photo is one that Josie took. She is getting a little better with the camera, but still takes a lot of photos of her feet because she holds the camera against her body to be able to push hard enough on the shutter release button.



My friend, Gary, is lending me his Canon Digital Rebel SLR so I can try one out before buying one for myself. It has a faster lens than a point and shoot, so I want to get one in order to capture J on the move. I tried it out on our dogs, which admittedly move a lot slower than J because they are both older than 12.
