CAD version of extrusions, Kilmat & grab bar
I have ordered the aluminum extrusion pieces for the bench and the murphy bed platform from Tnutz.com. I have no idea when they will arrive, they sent a receipt for the purchase, but no indication of when the parts might ship. If they didn't have lots of people recommending them on van build websites I would worry that I just sent money off to a scam website. It took a lot longer than I thought it would to make these designs on Fusion, but a lot that was me learning the software.
I also have added the sound deadening mat (Kilmat) to the large open areas of the van walls. The van was delivered with sound deadening already installed in many areas, but not on all the big surfaces. I am not sure why they don't add it for the big areas that are where windows might be installed.
I also installed the grab bar near the back door, now it will be much easier to get up into the van. I wish there were also an easy bar to add near the passenger slider door, but I haven't found many examples of that and there aren't obvious pre-tapped holes in the van frame to install a grab bar.
We have also put a deposit with All Weird Days for them to install two more captains chairs and fixed windows behind the driver and on the passenger sliding door. The plan is to have it done by a concert/camping trip to the Gorge the week after Memorial Day weekend. We are getting JMG Systems seats, which are supposed to be comfortable. I wish they would be easier to install/remove to open up the space in the van, but adding that functionality would have been almost twice the price.
