J's birthday party in the woods

J turned six this year, and to celebrate we invited 4 of her classmates and their families on a camping trip. We went to Scenic Beach State Park on Hood Canal. We had a great time, and it seemed like the other families had a good time too. We stayed Friday night with grandparents, and Saturday night with the other families. To get to the campground from Seattle, we took the Seattle/Bremerton ferry, which was also fun. We had great weather the whole weekend. On Saturday, before the other families arrived, we had dinner at the small pizza place in Seabeck, WA. They make great pizzas from scratch, both deep dish and thin crust. I highly recommend them. J at kindergarten promotion celebration

J is through her first year at elementary school. They had a "Kindergarten Promotion Ceremony" today at her school. AHG, Rebecca, her mom and aunt and I were able to be there. They sang songs, the three kindergarten teachers all gave a speech. And then the teachers read each child's name, had them walk up on stage, shook their hand and posed for a picture. The photos below are J with her teacher, Ms. Colwell. J has had a wonderful time and has made some great friends this year. Next weekend we are going on a camping trip with some of them to celebrate J's birthday. I will try and post pictures from the camping trip soon after we get back.
