Even more painting (ugh)

The past week has been spent doing even more painting. The house is looking very different with all the new colors. I like having the feeling that I am getting to actually finishing a few rooms.

This picture shows the old color of the downstairs bathroom. It was a pale green sort of color. I liked it, but it was getting a little tired and I had to fix some drywall mistakes I had made, so it was a good opportunity to try a new color.

This next picture shows the "orange room" (which has become the new name for the room. It used to be the "toy room" because I store all my bikes (well, maybe not all of them, just 2 of the 5) and hiking gear in it). Kay says it feels like you are inside a tangerine when you are standing in the room. The downstairs bathroom is in the far corner. You also can see the new mini-blinds I put up. They are the honeycomb shades that let in light, but give you privacy.

This next photo is taken while standing in the bathroom looking out to the orange room. I think I found this new color in a Pottery Barn catalogue. Their prices are too high, but I do like their style. I take the catalogue to Home Depot and match the color.

This next photo is the same view as the photo with the original color. The yellow turns out to be just what I was hoping for.

and as an added bonus, here is a picture of one of the old doors I had the paint stripped off of. I am taking a risk showing it, because by showing it, I will reveal just how long it takes me to finish a home project. It will probably stay in this state, in this exact spot in my laundry room for the next five years. Oh well, it looks pretty there.
